About Us
Since 1958, we’ve been helping people achieve their financial goals, small businesses get the financing they need, and our employees expand their career potential. Additionally, we actively support our local schools and charitable organizations. We want our members and employees to feel good about the good we do in their communities, and we will continue to build this reputation one relationship at a time.
Carolina Trust believes that before trust will be reciprocated, it must be earned with time, consistency, and authenticity. We’re the trustworthy faces you see around town, and we’re proud of our Credit Union heritage of owners serving owners.
Impact on the Grand Strand economy
Carolina Trust FCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative who puts people ahead of profits and depends on the exceptional power of teamwork. From members to volunteer to staff and leadership, we are all tenacious people who draw courage, stability, and fulfilment from cooperating for the benefit of our larger community. We are nimble, relying on inventive spirit to propel us farther and manage the inevitable change. We’ve maintained our position even though the country’s economy has fluctuated between fearsome lows and wealthy highs with over 40,000 members, 90 employees, 12 volunteers and $400 million in assets.
At Carolina Trust, we believe that sports can bring a community together, and community is at the heart of everything we do. This is why we’re so passionate about our sponsorships with the Myrtle Beach Bowl and Coastal Carolina University and their Athletics Department.
With a desire to serve our community and have a direct influence on the future of its financial stability, Carolina Trust makes it a priority to invest in the education of our youth. The credit union established the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union Annual Veterans Scholarship in honor of Lieutenant Colonel James B. Kendrick, USAF/Retired, which is now in its fifth year. The scholarship goes to Veterans Services at Coastal Carolina University, to help support military veterans and participants in the ROTC program. And for the 17th year, we have partnered with HTC, Inc. to award two $1,000.00 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University. The scholarship is eligible for a $500.00 renewal, for up to three years if the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria.
We know that supporting University athletics takes more than just showing up on gameday, which is why Carolina Trust is a proud sponsor of the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF). CAF is the main fundraising organization for university athletics. They make sure each student athlete has the tools and resources they need to succeed on and off the field. Carolina Trust has been a major sponsor at the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation Gala, their main fundraising event of the year for the past three years.
