The Youth Leadership Camp is designed for motivated high school students from Horry and Georgetown counties who are ready to step up, build confidence, and grow into future leaders of our community. This year, 30 bright and driven students joined us at Coastal Carolina University, bringing their energy, ideas, and determination to make a difference.
The Youth Leadership Camp is a three-day, overnight camp that blends leadership training with hands-on skill development. Held at Coastal Carolina University from June 15-18, 2025, the camp empowers students through sessions on soft skills, financial literacy, and community engagement, culminating in service projects designed to spark positive change in their schools and neighborhoods.
Thanks to the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) as a proud sponsor, the camp goes beyond leadership — offering a gateway to career exploration and workforce development. DEW’s involvement reflects their commitment to building a strong, prepared talent pipeline for the Waccamaw region. By connecting students with mentors, employers, and opportunities, the camp encourages them to dream big, network boldly, and see themselves as the leaders of tomorrow.
Beyond workshops and seminars, students enjoy team-building adventures like a campus scavenger hunt, interactive games, and social activities designed to foster collaboration, friendships, and fun.
The Youth Leadership Camp is 100% free for all student participants, thanks to our sponsors. Individuals, organizations, and businesses can join this mission by sponsoring future camps or partnering with PGS to provide mentorship, resources, and real-world career connections for students.
