Traditional stagnant posts are no longer the “drivers” in the social media landscape in 2025. According to multiple social media experts, using YouTube, TikTok and Reels are no longer nice to have – they are considered a necessity.

The data indicates that video has surpassed all other social media as the driver of both consumer engagement and sales. 87% of marketers are saying video has been (and will continue to be) center plate in their social media planning.

Some key tips to consider regarding leveraging video in your marketing mix are as follows:

Recognize that people have shorter attention spans than ever before, so mastering short-form video is a must.

Be aware that people are frequently multi-tasking when they consume social media so making sure the captions are available for all video postings is important.

Repurpose longer form video to use on multiple platforms. For example, take longer videos and edit them into snippets to use as reels or TikTok posts. The content from videos can also be repurposed in the form of a blog.

SEO drives everything, so be sure that your postings are all optimized for the best SEO results.
