We're so glad you're here. Horry County is a beautiful place to live, with something for everyone. Whether you're a beach lover, a history buff, or an outdoor enthusiast, you're sure to find something to enjoy here.

We know that moving to a new place can be a lot of work, and updating your voter registration is probably not at the top of your to-do list. But we want to make sure that you have a voice in our local elections, so we've created a short guide to help you get registered at your new address.

Here are the eligibility requirements to vote in Horry County:

· Be a U.S. citizen.

· Be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.

· Be a resident of Horry County and the precinct in which you are registering.

· Not be under a court order declaring you mentally incompetent.

· Not be confined in any public prison resulting from a conviction of a crime.

· Have never been convicted of a felony or offense against the election laws, unless you have served the entire sentence, including probation or parole, or have received a pardon for the conviction.

Here are the places where you can register to vote in Horry County:

· Public library

· Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office

· Department of Social Services (DSS) office

· Mental Health Center

· Health Department

· Horry County Voters Registration and Elections Office · Online

To register to vote, you must provide a copy of one of the following items:

· Any current, valid photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport, or military ID.

· A utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or other government document showing your name and address in Horry County.

When can I register to vote in South Carolina?

· You can register to vote at any time.

· There is no length of residency requirement.

· You must be registered at least 30 days prior to any election in order to vote in that election.

· If you are registering by mail, your application must be postmarked at least 30 days prior to the election.

· If the deadline falls on a Sunday or U.S. Postal Service holiday, the postmark deadline is extended to the next day that is not a Sunday or holiday.
